Since our inception, we have constructed over two dozen bridges for MOTI (H), Private Developments, Logging Companies, Cities and Municipalities. Our expertise predominantly lies in constructing precast single-span bridges supported by piers, a design choice that reflects our commitment to durability and efficiency. The latest addition to our portfolio was completed in 2019, further solidifying our dedication to enhancing the infrastructure of Vancouver Island. Our expertise in constructing bridges spans a diversity of structures and purposes.
Some typical examples include the Award-winning Kinsol Trestle reconstruction over the Koksilah River, French Creek Highways Bridge on the Vancouver Island Inland Highway, and Rainbow Pedestrian Overpass in Saanich, among many structures. Most of these structures had a significant environmental impact that was professionally mitigated by our Team. All of these have been constructed to the highest level of performance with substantial oversight by our staff and design consultants.
These types of structures include single-span concrete and steel girder bridges as well as multi-span composite structures used for pedestrian and highway traffic. Most of these structures involved working in and adjacent to rivers and streams. To complete these projects and mitigate any adverse effects on the habitat and wildlife, we were required to follow strict environmental standards regarding sediment and pollutant control. Our activities required an environmental plan that was reviewed and monitored on-site by a designated Environmental Monitor to ensure that the plan was followed and that there were no activities detrimental to the environment.
