Certified LEED Gold Campus Facility
Completed in 2011, the Visual Arts building is a 30,000 square foot facility that houses visual art studios built specifically for drawing, painting, pottery, sculpture, photography, and videography programs. Some sustainable items included in this project:
- Recovered storm water is used for toilets and irrigation.
- Wind and solar energy sources supplement the main grid hydro.
- Oriented for natural ventilation, the passive wind and solar heating and cooling systems are supplemented by a closed ocean geothermal loop.
The concrete and glued laminated timber work were completed by our own forces.
